In Reach is a flexible channel for transforming organizational tribal knowledge as well as new ideas into actionable content , in the form of playbooks. Content is at the heart of In Reach.
Anyone can create a playbook in the In Reach app. However the content manager that is assigned to the playbook has the authority to moderate , validate and publish playbook created by others.
There are several ways you could add content . The easiest is to use the content builder feature that allows creating and configuring playbook in the desired hierarchical structure that is familiar to users.
To create a playbook , click on the Add Playbook link on the Left Navigation Area. This will open open up the screen where you will find various blocks that allow building content in different ways. Select the Content Builder block.
- On the builder wizard, start by adding a suitable title, a short and long description , and upload an image that you would like to provide for the content. Make sure that your image file is not bigger than 25 KB. The supported image formats for images are .ico,.png and .jpeg as well as .gif.
You can format the long description by using the many features provided by the text editor. The maximum length of the description that you can add is provided at the right of the text editors. Next select the category which your content belongs to.
You can also create a tile as your image and provide text on it by using the tile image generator.
In the Access approval required block, select yes if you would like to receive approval requests from the user before they can view this content. If no approval is required, select No. If you select yes, you will also have to type-in his name in the box.
Next you will need to type-in the name or email address of the content manager, who has the authority to validate and moderate content in In Reach
2. Next you will add the names of participants that you would like to provide access to in order to view the playbook you are creating.
The Add Author feature allows adding details of the author(s) that created this playbook. There could be more than one author who collaborated on this content. Click save and continue.
3. Now you can start adding the content in a Hierarchy. A module is a container for a group of related topics .
For creating a module provide module name to the default open module save it . Once the module is create click the Add Topic button which will allow you to either upload a file from your computer, or paste an external link to some file . Then click the save file icon to save the topic. In this way, you can continue adding multiple topics to a module.
4. Next up is the properties area where you can add the department and role that the content you are creating is useful and relevant to.
You can also add specific keywords that would help locate this playbook. You can also add a specific project name , so as to recommend or assign the playbook to its members.
Click Save and Continue.
5. The settings area has some very important actions that you can set to work with the content that you are creating for a particular playbook.
If the user wishes to download the content , he can do so if you set the toggle button to Yes.
While viewing this playbook, user would be able to download a zip file of the entire content of the playbook.
If the above setting is set to Yes , when the user completes viewing this content , the content manager as well as the admin is notified . This improves visibility.
Checklists help standardize your processes so that they run smoothly and efficiently every time they are used. When followed , they are a great way to reduce errors for any repetitive process or procedure that require precision.
If checklist is enabled for a playbook, you can add a series of instructions or tasks , so that its participants need to complete all tasks mentioned in the checklist before they can complete the playbook. This helps compliance and assures standardization.
You can enable and add a quiz after completion of the content for the user to take. In Reach Assessments feature lets you create questions who can either have Multiple answers or single answer. This helps a user to validate the knowledge gained from viewing the playbook.
On completing the assessment , user can review the questions, view the score and also download a certificate.
By marking content as private , you can restrict access to it. A small lock icon is displayed in that contents tile block and user needs to request access to the admin or the access approver , in order to view the content.
A content can be archived if it is no more popular or is no longer relevant. Archived content will cease to be seen in the All Content area.
When you have completed all the settings click the Save and Continue button to proceed.
The publish pane confirms and displays all settings and enables you to choose if you wish to publish this content.
Click Yes to publish the content and make it visible in the All Contents.
If you select Cancel , then the content is still saved. However , it does not show up in the All Contents .
If you wish to publish it , you need to edit the content. However you may not have the edit access in which case you can request edit access to the Admin or content manager.
